A 'Blessing in Disguise' Christmas Present

In one day, Lindy gets locked in a store, loses her could-have-been boyfriend, gets fired, and has to take a job at a place she detests. Seems like Santa skipped over Lindy this year... or has he?

I've "purchased" several of Lisa Scott's "Flirts" when they were available as freebies and they're always a really good way to spend 45 minutes - and this story is no exception. As with the other Flirts, there's enough time to actually build a little romance between the hero and heroine - and I really think that's what sets these stories apart from other short stories out there. The hero and heroine are given some time to spend together, share some experiences together, and build a little foundation for a relationship. There's also a bit of time for character development which helps to further enrich the story.

In this story, I initially found Lindy to be a little shallow and `looking her nose down' at a certain thing in the story. I didn't know if I'd like her or not, but, as the story rounds out, you find that everything is not what it seems. In the end, the story was fun, humorous, sweet, and a little emotional. This is a great way to spend a few spare minutes during the holiday season.

Lindy's bad Christmas?

On her way to a blind date, Lindy stops off quickly to replace some ripped stockings. But the manager of an upscale boutique ends up stuck in the dressing room of the bargain basement store overnight. This costs her a dream job, but will it bring her a dream man? Holiday Rush is a mid-length short story, which gives enough room for good character development of both Lindy and Alex and enough time for the relationship to seem real. I'm a "Flirts" fan and I think this is one of my favorites of the whole series. However, I strongly suggest buying the entire "Holiday Flirts!" collection, because the stories are interconnected and while this stands alone, it's more fun to read what comes before and after.

The first story in the new "Holiday Flirts" romantic short stories. Picture a "fashionista" locked in a discount store dressing room after the store closed. Sounds like a good start to a really fun story about finding love in an unlikely place. I have enjoyed all the "Flirts" but with the holidays coming up these are just what you need to get the season started. An absolute must-read for the beginning engineer or anyone who works in experimental physics (and I would guess other experimental fields in the sciences, if it involves developing instrumentation.) This book is well-written, with the perfect amount of detail and math to give you an understanding of the origin of the various sources of noise but no lengthy derivations. A perfect 'what you need to know' type of book, with enough detail for you to truly understand what you are learning.

Low price book, high value information

I really liked Jack's book, Double your Money with Abandoned Properties. He packs a lot of good information into a relatively short book. He only includes what has worked for him. I particularly liked the chapter on tax foreclosure sales. He walks through the entire process of a tax sale, detailing his experience. No false promises, no get rich quick nonsense.
I enthusiastically recommend this book.

J. J. Luna gives an amazing amount of information and guidance in a 54-page ebook. I know a lot about tax sales of distressed property. I very much appreciate and agree with his emphasis on becoming familiar with the property and having practical, down-to-earth plans for disposing of it before investing any money. His advice about becoming familiar with the process used by particular states and counties in selling tax deeds is especially important. The details can vary, not only from state to state, but also from county to county. Like in most things in life, the devil - and the profit! - is in the details.

I felt so energized by this book that I am looking forward to retirement so I can try my luck, realizing how much work, but how much fun this business could be.

The stories and transactions that the author talks about may seem like dreams to some, but a reality to others. I actively buy and sell real estate and I use many of the techniques the author write about. They are very real and anyone can do it. The author has a "can do" attitude and looks for creating value where others fail to see. The book was an easy read and demonstrates the power of real estate, if done correctly. This is a great intro book for those considering learning about how to flip real estate.
