However, resentment of Gilneas and its ruler, Genn Greymane, runs deep in Stormwind’s King Varian Wrynn. His refusal to forgive Genn for closing his nation off from the rest of the world years ago endangers more than just the summit: it threatens to unravel the Alliance itself.

Varian’s animosity is only one of many unsettling developments in Darnassus. An uneasiness creeps over the once-immortal night elves as the first of them fall victim to the infirmities of age. While they cope with their mortality, tensions flare over the reintroduction of the Highborne, formerly the highest caste of night elf nobility, into their society. Many night elves are unable to pardon the Highborne for the destruction unleashed on Azeroth millennia ago by their reckless use of magic.

When a murdered Highborne is discovered on the outskirts of Darnassus, Malfurion and Tyrande move to stop further bloodshed and unrest by appointing one of the night elves’ most cunning and skilled agents to find the killer: the renowned warden Maiev Shadowsong. Yet with all that is transpiring in Darnassus, the Alliance might be powerless to stop the relentless new warchief Garrosh from seizing the whole of Ashenvale.

Mislead

The book is one of unique taste. I don't think it was bad, just I'm not interested in Night elves. I bought this book because I thought it will be about the guy on the cover Varian. When in fact more than 70% of it is about Night elves and their mystery assassin. If I wasn't such a Varian fan I'll give this a book a thumb down. The book title said wolfheart, so you expect to see most of the book talk about worgens and Varian but it did not. The assassin killing highborne should have been side story at best not the main piece.
If the worgen and King varian plot switch places with the night elf and the assassin plot it would be a whole new story. I meant the book should be called Jarod's journey not wolfheart because it barely dealt with the subject. I'm just saying, if you want to buy this book to know more about Varian or the worgens don't. Just read wiki page. If you want to know more about the night elfs then go and buy it. I insist, the title though is misleading as hell

Battle of Ashenvale and return of the Worgen

Azeroth never has a time of peace, it seems, as some battle is plotted or enacted in some part of the world. Azeroth has its parallels to our world- the good are not always good, and heroes have marginal room for error or full on corruption.
This lore of Azeroth primarily focused on the alliance bickering amongst themselves as to whether or not the worgen should be permitted to re enter the faction of Alliance and contribute to the constant war against the horde-some still wrestle with their past mistakes.
Meanwhile, in Ashenvale, the Horde, led by Garrosh, has infiltrated Alliance lands with tactics not used by them before and seemingly over powered and unstoppable.
Not the best written in the Warcraft novelizations, but not the worst. I still don't prefer this author's style, but so far it's been better than his Aspect novelizations for the dragon lore of Warcraft.

Good for the lols, I guess

Honestly, what can I say? This is a RAK Warcraft book, so it I know not to expect Tolkien; but at the same time, I just wish his books didn't have to be so god awfully cringe-worthy.

This one is particularly rough on night elf lore. The scenes with the then-new Worgen race almost make up for this, but then the book turns around and introduces a "murder mystery" kind of storyline that is really more like something out of the first run of Scooby-Doo cartoon, where we see the Shadowsong siblings behaving in very silly ways. Six or so years after the publication of this book, said siblings shrug the events of this book off as if they never happened. Oh, not just the two siblings shrug it off -- the entire *game* shrugs it off! And it's kind of important. What the...

And and by the way, the book is actually about Varian Wrynn. I guess.

Harry Potter et la Coupe de Feu, et bien, Harry commence un nouveau cour dans son ecole (Hogwarts), mais avant de aller il va a la competence de Quidditch plus grande du monde, ou jouaient tous les equippes de Quidditch Profesionnel. Dans le nouveau cour il a un nouveau Professeur: Moody, un type effrayant qui peut voir dans les cappes invisibles et les habits, des personnages vieux comme Dobby, Charles Weasley et Bill Weasley et des nouveaux comme Winky, Messieur Croch, etc. Aussi, il ni a pas de Quidditch entre les Maisons cet an, parce que il aura unne competence entre ecolles, avec des preuves que notre heros et des etudients de otres ecoles (Beauxbattons de France et Drunmstang de Bulgarie) doivent passer et que menacent avec la mort. Si vous avez deja lu les 3 premier livres, je suis sur de que vous ne peuvez pas attender a la sortee de celui-ci.

Great supplement to an intro to modern physics class

I also had Dr. Harris as my professor for modern physics, and he is simply the greatest at explaining non-intuitive ideas when it comes to modern physics. Similarly, this textbook is straightforward and concise, making this an ideal supplement to the class. However, it might be hard to fully understand concepts if you're only relying on the book.

Clean, clear, concise

I have been studying from this book for the past few weeks. Dr. Harris presents the material in a clean and clear way that demonstrates all the nuances and subtleties of relativity and quantum mechanics. Not only that, but the material is concise. Mathematical details are thrown into the Appendices for those who are interested in the mathematics, but for everyone else, the main results and concepts are presented. The problems, as I have seen, are also reasonable in length and difficulty.

This book is definitely worth your time and effort if you truly wish to gain a strong introduction to relativity and quantum mechanics.

Good Book

I'm taking Quantum 2 this semester, and this is the second book we were required to buy. The first was Cohen-Tannoudji (sp) Quantum Mechanics Volume 2, which was terrible.

Then, for the second half of this course we got this book. I wish I had looked at this book while we were using the Cohen book, because it is just so much easier to digest. It actually explains things, and gives examples in the text. A solid modern physics textbook for sure.
